Family Camp
We had a family camp with
the Debrecen Nagyerdei Reformed Church from 9th to 15th
July, in a beautiful place called Sátoraljaújhely, Northeast of Hungary. There
were more than 350 participants. The purposes of the week were getting stronger
in faith, building the congregation and refreshment in both physically and
mental.
After song learning in the
morning and the common introduction of the theme of the day we went on and held
nice conversations in small groups. Other programs helped the understanding of
the different age groups of the congregation. In the afternoons we had trips in
groups formed spontaneously, and did sports, played games, took part in handcraft
activities and there was even facility of swimming in the pool of the camp. In
the evenings we had devotions and common singing in the church of the town.
In the end we spent a
marvelous and rich of quality time together with kids, teenagers, young adults,
families, people of middle age and oldies. And for all these let it be
gratitude and glory for our God!
Some notes from attendances:
I
start my first camp in heat with two babies. One was hold my hand and one in my
belly. I was worried, How will our days go by? Can I refill my soul? But the
honest, opened and happy atmosphere dispels all my worries. I felt that we can
talk bravely about the big steps in lives, conversion and beliefs. I can say
that we felt that the Holy Spirit is around us. I'm so thankful for this camp;
I hope that I can come again next year.

I feel that I am much more
involved to the congregation as I know more people there. And the family camp is a perfect place to
meet and talk with people, to find true friends. I think that the camp was
great because of the people who were there. But it's not a merit, it's grace.

The whole week filled with
happiness and joy. I find great help to find my place in this chaotic world. We
had good conversations about life. We got to know that we have our God and we
can turn to Him with everything.

The best of the camp was
that our pastor talked about God's word. And on that week God charged our group
to give His word to other people.
Lilla 9 year's old girl
For me the best when I
heard the sound of the flute and everyone said a pray at last night's worship.

I'm so happy to I have
friends. Here everyone is my friend.
Anikó, 6 years old girl
As I look back I have a lot
of nice memories of the camp; the together prays, the honest testimonies, the
expression of Jesus' presents. I find soul brothers.
